Most of the backings you have seen so far were written specially for Canonbury, but there are quite a few throughout the book written by Alan Pring himself. 

How to use Alan's backings

• Please go to ❗Alan's website and click the link to your backings: 
• For cornet backings click the link called "Simply Brass Acc. B♭ Tracks";
• For tenor horn click "Simply Brass Acc. E♭ Tracks".
• On the new page you can check that it says B♭ or E♭ at the top.
• Now just read down the list of titles till you find your song. There is some fantastic music there – enjoy yourself!
• Remember that the introductions are not all four bars long! Please check – I have probably said how many.

There are now backings online for every page in the Simply Brass book, from 3 to 51. About Simply Brass and how we use it

Simply Brass  – the brass book we use at Canonbury

There will soon be more here about the book, its author Alan Pring and what else he has written.

B and F

Backings marked B are still in a basic or beginning state and I want to do more work on them.

Other backings could be marked F for  finished, or maybe final, or even fancy, meaning that I am not planning to do any more with them (unless I change my mind ...) but it was taking up too much space to mark them. So if it doesn't have a B, it means that I think it's F!

Question: if you are in Year 6 you might know this one: which backing is still just B, but I like it so much that when I make it F I still want to keep the sound and the feel the same? It's the only one that works so well for me.
